Strangely Dim

Clingman’s Dome, October 2020

“The world has gotten so noisy.” I remarked to my husband last week. “I used to hear from the Lord so often, but now less frequently.”

Yet God never fails to reach me when I’m in the mountains. Maybe it’s because there’s no WiFi there distracting me and scrambling my thoughts like eggs in a skillet? 🤪

It was a great reminder to me that although I’m back from vacation, the rest and reconnecting with God must not end here.

It’s been a hard year for all of us, that’s one thing all Americans can agree on. I don’t know about you but so many things have lost their luster in the midst of this tribulation.

Maybe that was one thing God wanted us to sense as we draw nearer to Him as our strong tower in a shaky world. “The things of this world will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.”

Nothing can dim His light and the darker it gets around the believer the brighter He shines within her.

I’m taking some time away from the background noise of newsfeeds in the coming weeks to set my mind on things above.

I hope you’ll join me in prayer for this new season we are about to enter into in a year that seems to keep throwing curveballs our way.

God bless, you, friends.
