Today we see Jesus feeding the 5,000, walking on the water, and teleporting the disciples in a boat to their destination.
Jesus tests the disciples by asking where they can get food to feed all of the people. Once they admit that it will be a near impossibility to feed that may people in the middle of the countryside, Jesus steps in and performs an epic miracle.
A young boy steps forward with 5 barley loaves and 2 fish. They ate as much as they wanted and had enough left over for the disciples to have their own basket. He noticed they were recognizing him as a Prophet and wanting to make Him their king, so He slipped away. That was not God’s will for Him.
Meanwhile the disciples boarded a boat headed for Capernaum. They rowed 3 or 4 miles in rough waters until Jesus, walking on water, joined them in the boat and got them where they needed to be immediately.
The Big Idea for today is that with man things seem impossible and hard, but with God all things are possible and don’t require striving/wearing ourselves out.
May the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and give you His peace,
