Pointing to the Right Tree

“Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4

Have you ever thought about this very in this way, everyday people are deceived and “eat the fruit” the enemy offers. It’s the purpose of Christ followers to offer an alternative.

It’s our duty as Christians to point people to the Tree of Life, His name is Jesus. Instead of a poisoned apple, we extend the good news of the gospel. If they take and eat from the fruit of His tree, they will be saved.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

So today as you pull up your social media feeds, I challenge you to count how often you are presented with a temptation to eat from the tree of comparison, discontentment, envy, strife, anger, jealousy, slander, fear, gossip, etc. and count how many people you follow are offering you Jesus through encouragement, evangelism, or biblical truth.

If you are a follower of Christ, look at your feed. What are you and I offering others?

It’s something to ponder. I believe that if we choose to use social media, when we stand before the Lord it will be a “talent” He asks for us to account for. It is a mighty tool however you choose to use it, but as for me I want to use it to bring others to a saving knowledge of Jesus or to point them back to Him.

I don’t know when Jesus will return, but the Bible tells us it is near. We must approach each day with the urgency that it could be our last. These days we are living in are dark and the world needs the light Jesus has put within us to shine brightly and lead others to Him.

Don’t be ashamed. Don’t be timid. Tell the truth and trust Jesus with the rest.
