I had a conversation with someone this week trying to recall Easter of 2020. It was so fuzzy I had to look at pictures to remember how we celebrated.

Can’t believe I forgot they labeled
church “non-essential.”

I think the trauma of last year made me forget so much…like for instance the word the government used for the most essential/meaningful activity of my life was to them considered “non-essential.”

There is a reason the writer of Hebrews tells us to “not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25 Church doesn’t save you (Jesus + nothing=salvation), but church is beneficial for building on the foundation of your faith.

There’s the joy you feel in the house of the Lord, the confirmation of God’s word as preachers and fellow believers testify to the truth, the encouragement to seek first His Kingdom and all of His righteousness, and the celebration of people publicly coming to faith in Christ.

Sunday and Wednesdays are my favorite days now that I’ve felt what it was like to live without them.

I’m writing it here so I don’t forget.
