Be His Witnesses
As we round out this week of studying together I think of the picture of the glowing Advent candles on our dining room table. Each day this week one more candle joined the next slowly but surely showing us Jesus overcomes the darkness with His light.
Maybe today He’ll shine through you and me in someway to be an encouragement, a helping hand, or a fresh perspective for someone who needs the truth of Jesus in their life.
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
In today’s devotional I encourage us to share our faith and pray for those specific people in our lives who need Jesus.
I also want us to be thinking about what the Lord has shown us this week about turning from fear to faith, darkness to light, and escapism to excitement to do His will while we have today!
May we submit ourselves to be disciples of Jesus this Advent season and through the New Year. My hope is that the Lord used this study to light a spark in your heart to dig in His word for yourself and follow the prayer guide.
For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast about, for I am under compulsion; for woe to me if I do not preach the gospel. 1 Corinthians 9:16
But if I say, “I will not remember Him Nor speak anymore in His name,” Then in my heart it becomes like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; And I am tired of holding it in, And I cannot endure it. Jeremiah 20:9
Do you know someone who may enjoy a spiritual boost and a bit of encouragement in the New Year? If you enjoyed the study, would you spread the word to them? Or, if you’d like to gift them a copy, you can purchase one them here.
